Andy founded Galumpha Gang in 2008. He worked closely with The Discovery Center of The Southern Tier Founding Director, Pokey Crocker, under whose auspices the camp flourished for its first nine seasons. Andy has performed his choreographic works at more than two thousand venues in thirty countries, including London’s Southbank Center, New York’s Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, The Seoul Arts Center, Berlin’s Akademie Der Künste, The Stadsschouwburg of Amsterdam, The Kravis Center, and countless others. He has been a featured performer on CBS’s Late Night with David Letterman, on the A&E Network, MTV, HBO, Canada’s Musique Plus, Germany’s ARTE Network, the BBC and Madrid’s Telecinco. Andy holds a BA in Theatre from Binghamton University and an MBA from Syracuse University. He lectures on entrepreneurship and offers choreographic workshops at schools and conservatories throughout the world. Andy is an Artist-in-Residence at Binghamton University’s Department of Theatre, and lives in Binghamton, NY with his wife, Carol, and their two children, Talia and Elias.
Brianna Barnett, Camp Instructor
Brianna has been dancing since the age of 5 and performing professionally since 2012. She spent the past 5 football seasons working as a professional cheerleader for the Gotham City
Cheerleaders, the only pro-cheer team to support the NY Giants. Brianna has performed and taught dance internationally in Mumbai, India; Tokyo, Japan; and Bolzano, Italy. Brianna has appeared as an extra in numerous television shows including Saturday Night Live, Last Week Tonight w/ John Oliver, The Steve Harvey Show, and more. She is currently teaching dance at Step Up and Dance and at The Dance Connection. She thanks Ann Szymaniak & the staff of the Dance Connection for her training.Gil Choi, Camp Instructor
Gil is beyond excited to be a part of the Galumpha Gang this year! He has been performing with Galumpha since 2015 and has loved every minute of it. He is the proud father of a 4-year- old (28 in dog years) Cockapoo, named Liam- they grow up so fast. He is not a picky eater.
James Glasgow, Music Director
James Glasgow is an American composer and owner of Strange Fangs Song Factory, a music composition and production company in New York. Glasgow’s work has been performed in the United States, Italy, and Brazil. Clients he has composed for include Galumpha, Sound Engineer Ryan Meadows (Game of Thrones, the Revenant), the New York City Poetry Festival, and over 50 projects for numerous universities, commercial entities, and private clients. Glasgow specializes in cello, piano, bass, and guitar performance. Upcoming projects in 2018 include performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the creation of a contemporary dance ballet set to premiere in October in Binghamton, NY.
Talia Horowitz, Camp Instructor
Talia Horowitz, hippie-dippy lover of nature, with a passion for creative writing. She’s currently a SUNY Broome student in the human services program. When she’s not reading or writing, she likes to explore the woods, skateboard, dance in the rain, and spend quality time with her family, cats and friends.
Lily Bosnick has been part of the Galumpha Gang every year since she was seven. She also studied dance with Southern Tier Academy and the Gregorian studio, voice at the Tri-Cities Opera company, and music privately and at school. She says, If you’re thinking about Galumpha, please come! It’s friendly and it’s fun, even if you’re new.
Anika Vandermast, Camp Instructor
Anika Vandermast has been participating in the Galumpha Gang camp since age 9,and is so excited to return this year as a staff member! She is a student at the Dance Academy of Loudoun, and a sophomore at Tuscarora High School.
Anika is passionate about dance and can not wait to return to camp again!Victoria “Tory” Daral has been teaching dance since 2010. She has studied dance since she was 5 years old, has done various workshops in NYC and has studied at Binghamton University taking Modern, Jazz, and Ballet. She has a training background in karate and gymnastics. Tory has performed and toured with the international post-modern dance trio, Galumpha. In 2011, she formed Multi-Cultural Crew “MCC”, (a visual and competitive hip hop dance crew) that competed in Binghamton’s Best Dance Crew and in dance battles in Philadelphia and Buffalo as a group and solo battles. Tory specializes in Acrobatics, Tumbling and Hip Hop. Her other jobs include working as a Birth and Postpartum Doula (care taking for mothers and babies) and being a vocalist in an original Progressive Funk Rock band called Souls of Renegades. In her free time, she likes to hike, swim, climb trees, do yoga, forage for wild foods, cook and bake whole-food meals and spend quality time with her two sons and husband.
Howard Klein, Lighting Designer and stage Manager
Howard Klein has worked for many years as a professional AEA Production Stage Manager Off-Broadway and regionally. He most recently worked at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts as Producing Coordinator in the Theatrical Production Department. Howard teaches Stage Management at Binghamton University and is the Stage Manager for the Department of Performing and Media Arts at Cornell University.
